Falcons Close Regular Season with Win Over North Montgomery

The North Vermillion boys swim team closed out the regular season Wednesday night in a three-way meet against Fountain Central and North Montgomery. The Falcons picked up a team victory over North Montgomery as they head into postseason competition next week. Relay Results North Vermillion opened the meet in the 200 Medley Relay, where the team of Karsyn Wallace, Dylan Lamb, Brady Dryer, and Kaleb Stambaugh turned in a strong performance to start the night and get the Falcons on the board early. In freestyle relay action, the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Austin Ball, Dylan Lamb, Brady Dryer, and Brandon Miller finished third with a time of 2:00.13. The Falcons closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The team of Austin Ball, Brady Dryer, Dylan Lamb, and Brandon Miller posted a 4:57.59 to cap the evening. Individual Highlights Emery Strubinger led the way individually, capturing first place in the 200 Freestyle (2:22.53). He followed that up with a personal best swim in the 100 Backstroke, winning the event in 1:06.15. Senior Austin Ball placed third in the 50 Freestyle (27.00) and added another third-place finish in the 100 Freestyle (1:06.49). Brandon Miller recorded a personal best in the 50 Freestyle (27.92) and later placed second in the 100 Freestyle with a 59.99, narrowly missing another PR by just .07 seconds. Distance swimmer Brady Dryer secured first place in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 6:46.86. Dylan Lamb added key points with a second-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke (1:59.12). Karsyn Wallace delivered one of the biggest swims of the night, posting a personal best in the 100 Backstroke (1:34.85) while finishing second against North Montgomery in the event, a crucial race in helping secure the team win. Kaleb Stambaugh also turned in a personal best performance in the 50 Freestyle (30.75). Up Next North Vermillion now shifts focus to the postseason. The Falcons will compete in the IHSAA Sectional meet beginning Thursday, February 19th at Crawfordsville High School.
