By GameChanger Media North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons built a 5-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off North Central's charge for a 12-11 victory on Monday. North Central closed the gap by scoring on a double, a double, a walk, a double, and a pop out. Bats blistered as North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons collected 12 hits and North Central tallied 13 in the high-scoring game. North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons got on the board in the top of the first inning after Marki Chambliss drew a walk, scoring one run, Haley Hughes singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. In the bottom of the fourth inning, North Central went back into the lead after S Seay singled to center field, B Wright singled down the left field line, and K Dreiman doubled to center field, each scoring one run. North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 10-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Addie Burns that drove in two. Ava Jumps led things off in the circle for North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons. The starter surrendered 10 hits and seven runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking three. Wright started in the circle for North Central. The hurler surrendered two hits and four runs over one inning, striking out none and walking four. Willow Campbell appeared in relief for North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons. North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons accumulated 12 hits in the game. Campbell and Hughes each collected three hits for North Vermillion Varsity Lady Falcons.
